Come and write your own, original poem on the sand at Orewa Beach, and have your poem featured in our drone movie of the event.
Poetry on the Beach is a pre-event for National Poetry Day, and will be held on Saturday 17th August 2019, 1pm-2:30pm , at Moana Reserve, Orewa Beach, Auckland, New Zealand (spot prize draw and poem reading at Orewa Library at 2:30pm).
There will be spot prizes, as well as a $100 prize for best poem, judged by Dr Jack Ross. Jack has published five books of poems and is editor of Poetry NZ.
Your poem can be short or long, you can be creative with formatting and layout, and you are also welcome to decorate your poem with natural materials that are found in the beach environment. Let your imagination run wild!
